Welcome to the records for the tales they tell of men! Here is where you’ll find the fans’ point of view on the greatest rock band to ever exist.
The Rolling Stones and their fans have a history that is infinitely intertwined and our fan memories – in words, photos and collections – are our band’s legacy.
As a fan archivist and historian, I recorded many of our stories and images in my tribute book, “Love You Live, Rolling Stones: Fanfare from the Common Fan.”
And now with my new online fanzine, and with your help, I will keep on compiling my fellow fans’ Stones adventures. An expanded print version will be available soon.
“Love You Live, Rolling Stones: Fanzine from the Common Fan” is dedicated to archiving the scholarship and history of the Rolling Stones from the fans’ perspective. And since scholarship is knowledge from study and research that is validated by peers and communicated, well, this perfectly describes what’s going on in these pages.
Fans at all levels of fandom will have their contributions validated and circulated here. I hope you will check out the Submissions page and submit a memory.
There are some regular short segments in my Editor’s Picks that are an easy in: “All About You Fans”; “Fans Recollect”, and “Fans’ Questions Proust-Style.”
I’ve answered them myself, recollected a personal Stones anecdote, and re-published one of my book’s personal stories so that you can get to know more about me as a Rolling Stones fan. Now what about you?
When anthropologists and historians of the future research the phenomenon of the Rolling Stones, I’d like all of these fan documents to be the archives of reference. Please help me keep them filled with your matchless offerings.
After all, we are all the common fan worshipping at the altar of the gods we’ve made.
Love you – and them – live,
Marilou
